Litostroj was established more than 70 years ago, based on collected knowledge and tradition that dates back more than 180 years. To honor Litostroj’s existence, tradition, knowledge and especially people of Litostroj, Litostroj Power published a book with the title THE PEOPLE OF LITOSTROJ: Men of steel with an iron will.

From June 26th to June 28th Litostroj Power Group was part of the annual HydroVision International event that took place in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. With 3000+ attendees and more than 320 exhibiting companies from around the world, Hydrovision International represents the largest worldwide gathering of hydro professionals. It provides a variety of activities such as workshops, conference sessions, hydropower-focused meetings, exhibition, tours and other.

On June 21st, 2018 Litostroj Power has been awarded with the Golden prize for the innovation from Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS), Chamber for Central Slovenian Region. CCIS is a non-profit, non-governmental and independent business organization representing the interests of its members and is Slovenia's most influential business association.

Litostroj Power was specially invited by U.S. Embassy in Slovenia to attend the SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington D.C., organized by U.S. Department of Commerce, which was held on June 20-22, 2018. The SelectUSA Investment Summit is the highest-profile event dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States.

Litostroj Power, together with our daughter company from Czech Republic - ČKD Blansko Engineering, will replace two turbines in the pumped-storage hydropower plant Limberg I in the well-known tourist destination and skiing resort of Kaprun in the federal province of Salzburg.

Students of Engineering and Business program from The University of Kansas (USA) visited Litostroj Power. We presented them what we do, how do we do it and what are our specialties in the industry.

As part of new factory construction in Turkey, proper implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system plays an important part for successful and efficient establishment of logistic, production and other processes in the company. In this respect, Litostroj Power Group addressed this topic with completely new development and implementation of SAP S/4 HANA as latest edition of SAP software, which was successfully implemented and put into operation in Turkey in the end of April.

Before the end of the year 2017, Litostroj Power’s engineers put into operation 4 Saxo-type units, two of them on Yellow Falls in Ontario and two of them on 11 Chute in Quebec, both in Canada. Each unit has an output of 9,5 MW with a runner diameter more than 3 m.

As construction of our new production facility in Ankara is getting to an end, we already started to educate and train key Litostroj Turkey personnel. For newly founded daughter company of Litostroj Power this is an unique opportunity to gain knowledge from experienced people and to continue our more than 70 years long tradition.

Graduate students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of University in Ljubljana visited Litostroj Power as part of the school curriculum. We took them on a tour to see our production facilities. For the majority of them it was the first opportunity to visit a manufacturing facility and to see first-hand how hydro turbines are being manufactured.
