Litostroj was established more than 70 years ago, based on collected knowledge and tradition that dates back more than 180 years. To honor Litostroj’s existence, tradition, knowledge and especially people of Litostroj, Litostroj Power published a book with the title THE PEOPLE OF LITOSTROJ: Men of steel with an iron will. The book is a result of research and historical exploration work. Comprehensive overview was prepared, which covers important milestones, projects and products information, pictures and other materials. During data collection, numerus people and institutions were involved; from previous directors and workers to state’s archives and museums.
Looking back, Litostroj became one of the biggest Yugoslavian industrial infrastructure and played key role in electrification of the country. Litostroj grew into more than just a company for producing water turbines. It became a way of life for the community it has created. Based on growing loyalty, the company grew into a success story on the international scale. Litostroj took over the leading role of the Slovene machine building industry, set industrial standards and introduced advanced unique solutions for HPPs to the market.
Armed with all this knowledge, tradition, past experience and teamwork of its employees, the company looks forward to the future. General Director Mr. Marko Tandler, concludes, “If you wish to see the future and to succeed, you must know and understand the past first.”
